Parish Vestry

The Vestry is the governing board of St. John's Episcopal Church. The Vestry consists of the Rector and fifteen laymembers. Lay members serve three-year terms. At the annual parish meeting held in December, the adult members of the parish elect five new members. In January, at its first meeting of the year, the vestry, elects its treasurer and clerks. The treasurer and clerks are not voting members of the vestry.  See a listing of our current vestry.

The Vestry meets the second Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in Heyward Hall. Meetings are open to parishioners. A parishioner wishing to speak at the meeting or submit an item for its agenda should contact the wardens. The Vestry also hosts Vestry Forums as a way for parishioners to share interests and concerns about the parish. Vestry Forums are scheduled on an as-needed basis and are announced in the on-line calendar, Sunday bulletin and monthly Messenger.
