Education for Ministry (EFM)

Education for Ministry (EFM), is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology at Sewanee. The program covers the basics of a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy, and theology, with emphasis on theological reflection. Students sign up one year at a time for this four-year program, beginning in Year One with an in-depth study of the Old Testament and going on to the New Testament the second year.  Learn more about EFM at Sewanee's web site.

Marriage Course by Alpha

The aim of this seven week course is to enable married couples to build a healthy marriage that will last a lifetime. Courses will be scheduled throughout the year, as needed. Cost is $25 per couple and a nursery will be provided. For more information, please contact Faxie Watt.

Cursillo
Cursillo refers to a short course in Christian living. A retreat held over a three-day weekend, Cursillo focuses on the person and teachings of Christ. Through prayer, worship, meditation, talks and discussion, participants develop a deeper understanding of Christ and a stronger desire to serve Him within the fellowship of His church. Cursillo is open to persons over 18. To learn more about Cursillo and when Cursillos are scheduled, visit our St. John's Cursillo page. Vocare
Vocaré is an instrument of renewal in the Church for young adults ages 19 - 30. Its aim is to concentrate closely on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. Our faith is seriously examined in a relaxed and loving three-day adventure shared with an international community of young adults.
