Girls Incorporated: Heyward Hall, Saturdays, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, June 19 - August 7. Girls Inc is an organization that empowers girls to reach their full potential. Many come from high-risk, underserved areas. They will be participating in the program "Healthy Girl, Healthy Young Lady."  Visitors are welcome.

Sunday, August 1

Donations to Harvest Hope:  Make food donation a habit. Also needed are plastic bags, soap, toilet paper, and personal items (lotion, deodorant, etc.).  Please place all donations in the basket in the church narthex.

Adults, Youth and all Children ages 4 and up:  You are invited to come learn the simple song that will be used at the 10:30 Procession and to prepare to take part in the procession at the 10:30 service. Parents:  We really need children!  This is a great way to work off a little energy before worship time! Intergenerational group — please join us, too! Heyward Hall, Room 215, 9:30 am.

Holy Eucharist: 7:45

Holy Eucharist: 10:30.  Music will be led by a new intergenerational group of adults, youth and children who will sing and play instruments.

Monday, August 2

Men's Bible Study Has Moved to Monday: The Men are reading and discussing Trust in the Age of Arrogance, by FitzSimons Allison, retired bishop of the Lower Diocese.  Breakfast is served.  Bible Study meets in the Barr Center Dining Room at 6:45 am.  Bring your own your book. (It's available on Amazon.)  Questions: Call Ned Badgett, 787-8189.

Agape Meals:  Volunteers provide meals for St. John’s members and families in times of illness, surgery, death, and childbirth. If you, your family, or others you know may need this comfort food, please call the parish office (799-4767).


Hand Middle School Collection Box Hand Middle School gets $0.10 for box tops. Examples are Betty Crocker, Bisquick, Fiber One, Cherrios, Total, Nature Valley, Scott, Pillsbury. Check it out at www.boxtops4education.com. Put these in the Barr Center box along with composition books, dividers, and sturdy back packs. Contact: Barbara Mullen, 252-1571.
